Celebrating 40 Years of Outdoor Adventures. Pioneers in Paddling Since 1986

Julie

Office Manager

Julie has enjoyed being in and around water her entire life. From coaching swimmers on the Special Olympics swim team to spending quiet hours in her kayak admiring salmon in local rivers, she feels more at home on the water than on land. Inspired by nature, Julie eagerly shares her love of the outdoors with friends and local paddling groups, nurturing a sense of curiosity and adventure in those around her.

Julie has a deep fascination with wildlife and a genuine joy for learning about the animals in her community. She delights in exploring tidepools and making friends with the small creatures who call them home, happily sharing their names and stories with fellow tidepoolers and beachgoers. Warm-weather paddling is her favorite, especially when longer days invite lingering moments with shorebirds and seals basking in the sunshine. Whether she’s setting out on a kayaking adventure or floating peacefully down a river on a summer day, time on the water brings Julie a sense of peace and coming home. Her deep love for all living things, paired with her kindness and approachable nature, make her easy to talk to and a welcoming presence both in the office and on the water.

When she isn’t exploring the beauty of her own backyard, Julie can be found “hitting the books” for a wide variety of local businesses. She shares her expert financial knowledge to help small businesses like Olympic Outdoor Center stay organized and thriving. If you stop by our shop in Port Gamble, you may spot our amazing bookkeeper and have the chance to share a smile, a story, and perhaps a bit of Julie’s quiet joy for life.
