The Werner Cyprus is Werner's most popular Performance Core high angle blade design kayak paddle. The mid size performance core blades fit a wide range of paddlers in many applications.

The Werner Cyprus Straight Shaft kayak paddle is a top choice for coaches and customers alike thanks to its light swing weight, surprising durability and an unparalleled quality of design and construction that leads the paddlesports industry. Whether your goal is to eat up the miles on your next tour or to explore dynamic waters with advanced maneuvering strokes, the Cyprus will get you there with less fatigue than ever before.

You’ll feel exceptionally light, buoyant strokes while the smooth back face gives a quiet entrance and exit from the water. The Cyprus is the smart choice for those playing or cruising with a high-angle style of paddling and wanting the conservative feel of a mid-sized blade.

  • Ultimate performance brings together all of our most advanced designs.
  • Mid-sized blades are an ideal fit for the great majority of average size paddlers.
  • The volume of the buoyant, full carbon, blades creates an exceedingly light feel for effortless and confident strokes.
  • Dihedral allows for smooth and stable forward paddling, a core philosophy for Werner.
  • Smooth back face makes for cleaner entry and exit of your strokes and an elegant feel on the water.
  • Optimized flex and strength. Choose from standard or small diameter shaft.
  • The Smart View Adjustable ferrule is the most simple, precise fitting on the market. The solid feel of a 1-piece paddle and nothing to snag your gear

HIGH ANGLE BLADE SHAPE:

High Angle paddling is typically a more aggressive style of paddling for those with more performance aspirations. The more vertical entry of the blade to the water (Through out the stroke the top hand should be about forehead height in this style) keeps the paddle closer to the boat and in turn allows for better tracking. More efficient as the boat travels along a more direct path. Due to the higher hand position, this style does wear on the smaller support muscles when proper technique is not used. Werner's high angle blades are designed shorter and wider, to match this steeper entry angle to the water with the perfect use of the blades surface area. High Angle designs work best when used with shorter paddle lengths of 205cm - 215cm. The combination of shorter paddle length and a shorter wide blade allows the right amount of balanced blade area to enter the water sooner, supporting a faster cadence, without having to over extend the upper arm. Werner paddles high angle designs have a slight dihedral for smooth vertical maneuvering strokes. Note: Werner also flattens the back face spine to aid in these strokes.
