With 50 years in the making, Wener is honored to have the "Ovation" carry on. In honor of the man who started it all, the Werner Sr. Edition Ovation is the culmination of decades of experience on the water and in the R&D room, working with composite materials and construction. Ultimate performance taken to a higher level with the Ovation; the lightest, best paddling paddle has no detail overlooked, even down to the custom drip rings. The feeling on the water is fitting of the name.
Our Ultimate Performance brings together all of our most advanced designs. Paddles that offer Ultimate Performance have an exceptionally light, buoyant and quiet feel on the water.
Low Angle is the most popular as it is more universal, primarily being more relaxed, but still allowing folks to paddle at a higher performance.
Werner's Smart View adjustable ferrule system has the most precise, solid fit while maintaining a smooth one piece feel. Simple in design and operation, easily adjust to your desired feather with less moving parts. Better performance and longer lasting.
For those that like a traditional, simple feel. Our attention to detail in texture, indexing and flex allows for confident control and comfort all day long.

Low Angle is the most popular as it is more universal, primarily being more relaxed, but still allowing folks to paddle at a higher performance. Our Low Angle designs have longer and narrower blades designed match this lower entry angle to the water with the perfect use of the blades surface area. The true benefit to low-angle is for those less likely to work on developing their forward stroke skills, and want to take the sport at a more casual, recreational level, the lower hand position (focus on keeping your top hand at shoulder height throughout the stroke) of this style puts significantly less wear on the smaller support muscles like shoulders, traps, biceps and triceps. Good technique can be developed and used with a low angle style, and is the choice for many who just prefer this body position and the ability to switch back and forth. Our low angle designs have substantially more dihedral, to keep the blade stable as it travels further from the side of the boat.
Choosing the proper shaft size (diameter of the shaft) for your hands assures a more comfortable experience on the water. You'll maintain a lighter grip for better technique, allowing better control and reduced fatigue. Measure your hand size by placing a ruler at the base of your hand (at the joint of your wrist) and measuring to the tip of your middle finger. If you measure smaller than 6.5" we suggest small shaft. Longer, go to our standard shaft. If you are on the line, we suggest you try both at an authorized Werner dealer and see for yourself. Paddlers with shorter, thicker fingers also gravitate to small shaft.
