MB1: Mountain Bike Basics Ages 11-14


In our introductory camp we teach the fundamental skills every rider should know, including proper riding posture, braking techniques, starting on hills, going downhill, basic cornering, how to ride over roots and rocks, and bike care. During the whole camp we teach proper bike safety while riding on trails, roads, in groups and the proper etiquette of how to share the path with other riders and trail users. 

Each day we focus on a new skill while practicing the skills we learned the day before. We get in a lot of riding and have a heck of a lot of fun at the same time.

Our camps are taught by Mountain Bike instructors with teaching and riding experience. We help young riders develop the core skills that lead to a lifetime of recreation and fun on the trails. Want to get your kids off the couch and video game console? Sign them up and we guarantee they'll be hooked for life. 

Pre-requisite: your child should know how to ride a bike before entering this camp.

Things To Bring:

Please put your name on your belongings and bring them in a back pack:

  •     Mountain bike (rentals available)
  •     Helmet
  •     Hardy lunch and snacks with little sugar and lots of protein.
  •     Sun hat & toque
  •     Sunscreen
  •     Sun glasses with strap
  •     long pants
  •     Short or long sleeve t-shirt depending on the weather.
  •     Warm jacket, not cotton (fleece is best)
  •     Rain gear or light jacket.
  •     Good tennis shoes, no flip flops or sandals

Please bring your own healthy, filling lunch, snacks and appropriate clothing for each day along with a functioning mountain bike and helmet. If you do not have a bike or helmet, please contact us and let us know your child's height, weight, age and biking experience.
