Kitsap Peninsula Water Trails Festival: Family Paddle June 24

In June 2014, the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trail was designated a National Water Trail by the National Park Service, one of only a handful in the country. Our 371 mile trail encompasses all of the Kitsap Peninsula and is one of the most spectacular paddling destinations in the world. Come out and join us as we celebrate the wonderful, majestic and diverse natural resources the peninsula has to offer.

The Family Paddle is a free to join short, approximately two mile paddle from Silverdale Waterfront Park around the north end of the bay and back before joining the paddlers from the Ride the Tide, triathlon event paddlers, and other paddling enthusiasts for the procession to the beach lead by our local native american tribal canoes and the Kitsap Peninsula Water Trail Festival at the Silverdale Waterfront Park. We recommend that you organize your own groups of family and friends and put one person in charge that can communicate with the trip leader if necessary. If you don't have your own human-powered watercraft, we are offering single kayak, double kayak, and stand up paddleboard rentals.

Looking for something a bit more? Join us for the Ride the Tide, a six mile paddle from Evergreen Park in Bremerton.

Not able to make it this time, but still want to have some fun out on the water? Click here for our Summer Calendar!

What's Included:

This is a free to join, unsupervised group paddle; the trip leader only provides direction and emergency on water assistance if needed. In other words you are responsible for yourself and your equipment while on the water.

All paddlers are eligible to enter in a free raffle drawing and the chance to win a Kitsap Water Trails Family Weekend Getaway which includes an overnight stay at Oxford Suites Silverdale, a lovely gift basket filled local products, gift cards for dinning, gear and a kayak rental - a $400 value! Just stop by the Olympic Outdoor Center / Visit Kitsap tent before the paddle. Raffle will be held after the paddle and winner must be present. One ticket per paddler. Sponsored by Visit Kitsap Peninsula.

No, there is no registration for the paddle but you will want to stop by the booth for a raffle ticket and attend the mandatory paddlers safety meeting at 1:30pm.

NO, this is a family friendly event, the coast guard will be there, and state and federal laws do not allow you to drink and paddle.
