Staff Review: "Super fun board downwind. The TRX accelerates quickly making it easy to catch bumps. Good flatware speed as well. I am also a fan of the grab handle that has been contoured. no more hand cramps! 5 stars" -Forrest
The Amundson 14’0” TR-X is unique in that it is stable enough to handle long sessions on rough water, but also smoking fast on all types of courses: around the buoys, or downwind shuttles. This board has been updated with a new underwater shape in the nose area. The deep sharp Vee has been replaced by a fuller, more rounded cross-section. This helps send more water under the board to initiate planing, as opposed to out to the sides or up in the air and onto the deck. The Carbon/Custom technology makes this the lightest board in the range, coming in at just over 25 pounds.
To get from Point A to Point B as quickly as possible, no matter what the conditions throw at you, pick the 14’0” TR-X.

Carbon Custom technology starts with a CNC milled core that exactly matches the shape designed by John Amundson. This core is then laminated with a Carbon/Kevlar bottom, a Carbon/Innegra deck, a high density PVC foam sandwich in the cockpit area, and thin layers of fiberglass. This results in the stiffest, lightest boards Amundson makes. They are a little more fragile than the Rhino-Lite boards, but well suited to paddlers who want the very best.
