12’6” is a great size for most adults, giving them enough extra waterline to feel the increased speed and glide and at 29 inches wide and 237 liters, the TR-29 offers enough stability to be comfortable in rough water, and enough float to fit the medium to larger paddler. Read more
Amundson has implemented a new underwater shape in the nose area. The deep sharp Vee has been replaced by a fuller, more rounded cross-section. This helps send more water under the board to initiate planing, as opposed to out to the sides or up in the air and onto the deck. The raised foredeck sheds water, and the slightly recessed cockpit keeps your center of gravity low, while making for a comfortable standing area. The boards feature our large easy-carry handle and deck inserts for stowing a life-jacket or bag.
For 2015 there are two completely new shapes, one at 27” wide, and one at 29” wide. Each is designed for a certain paddler size and skill range. The 12'6" TR-29 represents the third generation of the original TR, and maintains many of the same basic dimensions as the 2014 model. At 29 inches wide and 237 liters, it offers enough stability to be comfortable in rough water, and enough float to fit the medium to larger paddler. It is suitable as your first board, yet has enough performance to keep you excited about pushing farther ahead each day on the water. It is built in our Rhino-Lite technology, which is the best combination of weight, durability, and value on the water.
Learn more about Choosing a Stand Up Paddleboard
Rhino-Lite technology starts with a molded core of water tight fused cell foam. The core is wrapped with fiberglass cloth with extra material on the rails and a thin veneer of wood on the deck to prevent heel dents. The board is placed in a heated vacuum mold, with expanding epoxy resin. The heat and expanding pressure ensures that the resin completely laminates the skin to the core, creating a light and tough board that is resistant to dings and delamination. Rhino-Lite technology is the best combination of weight, durability, and value on the market.
