It soaks into the fibers, fills the spaces between threads and interferes with breathability. Wash the garment in warm water and rinse thoroughly. If it’s just dirt and other contaminants that are masking the DWR, this is likely all that’s needed to reactivate the water repellency.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eSecond step – after the garment is dry, spray or sprinkle a bit of water on it. If the water beads up, the DWR is back on the job and you’re golden. For most watersports apparel you need a specific type of DWR retreatment product. Many DWR renewal products require you to heat the treated garment in\u003ca id=\"_GoBack\" name=\"_GoBack\"\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e a clothes dryer to “set” the DWR.
