The Olympic Outdoor Center prides itself on the professional, fun staff that have helped us be an industry leader for 27 years.
Program Director, Sea Kayak Guide and Instructor. Born in Indianola, WA, Mikail got his start paddling along the shores of the Puget Sound at a young age. As his love for this great activity and mode of exploration grew, he took classes with the Mountaineers and the National Outdoor Leadership School. The pinnacle of his experience to date has been a sea-to-summit semester and 32-day unsupported sea kayak expedition in Chilean Patagonia.
Mikail is a certified Wilderness EMT, and is keen to all forms of human-powered outdoor pursuits. He couldn't imagine a better job then working at OOC as a facilitator of enriching outdoor experiences for people of all ages and abilities. When not at OOC you can find Mikail finishing his undergraduate in Squamish, BC, or in his vegetable garden.
Drew is our go-to guy! He helps with sales in our shop and on-line store, he helps design our brochures and other images and he helps on the water with tours. Drew made the move from the tech world to the OOC world and brought his skills with him, but he's having a bit more fun now. In his free time he kayaks, researches the latest and greatest in the tech world and rides his awesome orange moped around the Kitsap Peninsula.
Volunteers help us with many of our events ~ the Kitsap Water Trails Festival, Paddle Kitsap and Paddle Bainbridge. They help with everything from food preparation to being safety boaters ~ the events wouldn't happen without them.

"Just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to Spring and the rest of the fine folks at Olympic Outdoor Center for the hospitality you showed to the kids from Midlothian High School's Aquatic Science class. The kids (and I) had a blast on the water, and the visit to Port Gamble Environmental Lab was a surprise treat. I think that may have sealed my daughter's aspirations to become a marine biologist."
